In 2026, urban luxury in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) is defined by "Zero-Threshold" design and high-end materiality.
This massive project in North York, Toronto, involved the design and installation of four custom-built bathrooms, each tailored to provide a five-star hotel experience within a private residence.
The Story: A Masterclass in Modern Toronto Luxury
For this North York estate, the goal was to move away from "standard" bathroom layouts in favor of open-concept, barrier-free environments. The project utilized Large Format Tile and Seamless Glass to create a sense of infinite space and architectural continuity. The Signature Features:
The "Zero-Threshold" Shower: A standout feature of 2026 high-end design, these showers feature a seamless transition from the bathroom floor into the shower area, using linear drains and large-format tiles to create a sleek, uninterrupted look.
Artisanal Stone Detailing: Instead of standard plastic inserts, every bathroom features custom-built Quartz stone niches. These are integrated directly into the walls, providing durable, elegant storage for luxury bath products.
High-End Hydrotherapy: Each shower is a professional-grade spa station, equipped with:
Rain heads and shower wands for a customizable water experience.
Down-lighting to create a moody, relaxing ambiance.
Integrated bench seating for maximum comfort.
The Standalone Soaker: To serve as a focal point in the primary suites, standalone soaker tubs were installed, offering a sculptural element that balances the hard lines of the custom glass and tile.
Custom Glass Packages: Every shower and tub is enclosed in seamless custom glass, eliminating bulky frames and hardware to maintain a minimalist, "airy" aesthetic.
Project Scope:
Location: North York, Toronto (GTA).
Materials: Large format porcelain, Quartz stone, and seamless glass.
Finishes: Linear drains, rain-head shower systems, and subway tile accents.
Design Philosophy: Modern Minimalism with Zero-Threshold Accessibility.
Whether it was a guest bath featuring large subway tile or a primary ensuite with a linear-drain shower, this project demonstrates Canadiana Kitchens' ability to execute high-complexity urban renovations in Toronto. You can view the full four-bathroom gallery on the Custom Toronto Bathrooms Page.
